Pile Burning at Lake TahoeBURN NOTICE: Prescribed burns occurring at Tunnel Creek, Rocky Point, and Lookout Road in October-November 2014.

In addition: The Nevada Division of State Lands will be burning slash piles created by hazardous fuels reduction operations at Lake Tahoe from Crystal Bay to Kingsbury Grade throughout the 2014-2015 burn season. The burn season will begin the week of November 1st and continue through spring 2015. Burn days and locations will be determined by weather and other conditions.

Pile burning is the final phase of forest restoration operations and a critical element in the disposal of activity fuels generated by tree and brush thinning. NDSL works in cooperation with North Lake Tahoe and Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection Districts, Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, and Washoe County Air Quality Management Division.
