NOTICE:
The Nevada Division of State Lands will be burning slash
piles created by hazardous fuels reduction operations at Lake Tahoe from Crystal
Bay to Kingsbury Grade. The burn season will
begin the week of November 9th and
continue through spring 2010. Burn days and locations will be
determined by weather and other conditions.
Pile burning is the final phase of forest health operations
and a critical element in the disposal of activity fuels generated by tree and
brush thinning. NDSL works in cooperation with local fire protection
districts, Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, and Washoe County.
